Shady Shelters are made from 14 gauge by 2” Square and 12 gauge by 2 ¼” galvanized square steel tubing to form the two end frames, which can be taken apart for easy shipping, easy transport, and easy storage. The steel in this tubing is very tough, meaning that it will stand up very well to twisting and bending forces, and last for years.

High strength MIG welding is used where ever welding is required, which means permanent strength and stability for years of continual use in the open.

Painted sections, such as the welded angles, fence rail grips, and top end caps are also made of the same galvanized steel square tubing. The welded areas are painted with Rustoleum brand spray paint for long term good looks and protection. You can change the color to match your fence, barn, or even the Lady’s new truck by just using any hardware store spray paint.

The tarps we use are the best quality that we have found, and are standard sizes (10x8; 10x10 and 10x12). We use the silver top/black bottom for a reason: The silver top reflects the sun’s heat, much like the upper leaves of a tree, and the black underside is cool to the eyes, like the cool shady leaves on the bottom of the tree canopy.
